My family moved a lot. Those moves every year or two are what defined me. Fourteen times before I graduated from high school, then I went to college and just kept moving. Most recently I moved to El Paso, Texas from Portland, Oregon. Boy, that was a big change. I like the weather, but I miss the green.
If you’d like to see lots of pictures from Oregon and El Paso, be sure to check out my travel blog. I started it a few years ago when I decided I needed to get out more. I love to camp and hike, and to take pictures of Everything, so I began writing about my outdoor adventures.
Since we moved a lot, my brother has always been a great friend. On long car rides, or in a new neighborhood, sometimes it was just the two of us. Now he’s my brainstorming buddy and my hiking partner.
We live with my mother, who was an amazing artist before old man arthritis took his toll. My father, who passed away, was also an artist and our house looks like a museum!
And then there are the pets. My cat Misty and her not-quite-buddy, Ginger. They are well-loved and spoiled rotten. Misty is fifteen years old and starting to get skinny in all the wrong places. Ginger, about 11, moved in with my brother about six years ago. She loves water and tried to dive off a cliff at Multnomah Falls. She should be a poster-dach for using a harness!
